Primary prevention
✅️Patients who have small varices and no history of bleeding, but meet the criteria for increased risk of bleeding (Child-Pugh class B or C, red wale marks on varices), should receive preventive drug therapy with nonselective β-blockers.
✅️Nonselective β-blockers are indicated in all patients with medium or large varices and no history of bleeding
