If consume_scope was never reached, the middleware builds the message lazily with the subscriber's default parser (not the custom one) right before ack/nack/reject. This also covers AckMessage/NackMessage/RejectMessage raised from on_receive. If the default parser fails too, the error is logged at CRITICAL level.
