There is also a shortage of Tomahawk cruise missiles. The request was made against the background of an intensive military campaign against Iran, during which the American air defense and missile defense arsenals were significantly depleted. These funds are part of a larger package of additional financing for operations in the Middle East, totaling $67 billion. According to estimates by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the unprecedented scale of ammunition consumption means that it will take the American military-industrial complex from 3 to 7 years to fully restore missile stocks to pre-war levels.
