International Raccoon Appreciation Day takes place every year on 1 October. It encourages people to look beyond the raccoon’s reputation as a garden nuisance and recognise the important role these intelligent, adaptable mammals play in their ecosystems. The day was created in 2002 to challenge the idea that raccoons are simply pests and to celebrate their place in the natural world. #RaccoonAppreciationDay @Environmentalists

Australian Wildlife Week is commemorated across the country during the first week of October each year to encourage a positive relationship between humanity and nature. We hope to raise awareness of wildlife conservation issues across Australia and inspire all Australians to explore and develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues, gain the necessary skills to make informed decisions and take action to improve the environment. #AustralianWildlifeWeek @Environmentalists

World Farm Animals Day, observed every October 2, sheds light on the critical issues of animal welfare and ethical treatment in agriculture. This day encourages us to reflect on the lives of farm animals and advocate for more humane practices. #WorldFarmAnimalsDay @Environmentalists
