If the brackets are not positioned properly, it'll solve it in order of precedence

You're not doing it correctly

Send the formula

math.sqrt( (x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2)

You already used math.sqrt and you're still raising to 0.5 That's where your issue is coming from
