I have taken a course for c++ data structures but now I want to start it again with python
If you understand data structures with c++, that knowledge is helpful to understand what is going on under the hood.
Python is really high level, and abstracts how strings are handled and gives you simple methods to work with strings.
The string chapter on the repository shows those methods and also explains how to work with strings in python

Am using Visual Studio Code. When I run a python code, it's displaying on cmd for a few seconds then the window closes immediately.
Previously it was displaying on vs code terminal normally. How can I revert to this?

I think you've set your terminal to run on an external terminal
Open your settings and type "explorer kind" and change it to "integrated"

Where are you running the command from?
Are you using the green play button on vscode?

Try running python lists.py
The one above is trying to run the file as an executable software. I think that's reason it opens the terminal.
joseSaw a temporary solution somewhere adding input('press enter to exit') to make the cmd window displaying the output to wait for the enter button
The reason it starts terminal and it closes is because the code is done running and the process that was created is closed.
So you can run your code through way I highlighted in my early message and that way your output can be kept on your terminal so you can see and it doesn't close
