This is what a lot of Americans don't understand. There is no trailerpark for Europeans, there is no 'living in your car', because without quite a high income your car will just be taken off you, you will be moved on by the police etc. We have such restrictive planning laws that there is no jurisdiction in which you can buy some cheap land and live in a shed. This just does not exist as a paradigm here, there is no 'failure mode' where one can just retreat into the wilderness, cheap property or manufactured housing.
