What ChatCrawler does — and what it deliberately does not.

What is ChatCrawler?

A search engine over public Telegram. It discovers public groups and channels, crawls their open feeds and indexes their public posts — the same way a web search engine crawls websites. Public venues are the “sites”, their public posts are the “pages”.

Can ChatCrawler show private chats or leaked data?

No. Only content that is already public: open groups, open channels and the posts they publish openly. No private chats, no leaked databases, no phone numbers, passport data, addresses or any other closed records.

How do I look up a Telegram username?

Send an @username or a user ID to the bot, or open the web app. You get what is publicly known from the index: the public profile, the history of that @username — who held it before — and the public venues where the account posted openly.

How do I find groups and channels by topic?

Open the catalog. Public venues are grouped by topic and ranked by real activity in the index — how many public posts they produced over the last week — not by self-description.

Is it free?

Yes. Search and the public catalog are free and need no registration. Public venue pages and feed snapshots are readable without logging into Telegram at all.
