People often think 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 and 𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 mean the same thing, but there's an important difference.
✈️ #Aerodrome
It is a general term for any area on land or water designed for aircraft operations takeoff, landing, and movement. This covers everything from a small private airstrip and heliports to large international airports.
🏢 #Airport
An airport is a specific kind of aerodrome. It has the full infrastructure to handle commercial air travel terminals, baggage systems, air traffic control, security, customs, immigration, and cargo facilities.
To make it simple:
✅ All airports are aerodromes.
❌ But not all aerodromes are airports.
For aviation professionals, knowing this difference matters because it defines the infrastructure, operational capability, and regulatory standards.
