- Southern District Commander Maj. Gen. Haim Bublil said the initial investigation found that 4-year-old Yuval walked toward what he believed was the direction of his home, likely fell asleep overnight, and stayed in a shaded area after waking up, which may have saved his life.
- He was later found after hearing horses nearby, approaching them, and calling out.
