Following a strategic review of the business, the Board of HDR Global Trading Limited (the owner and operator of BitMEX) has made the difficult decision to close the exchange. Please rest assured that your funds are completely safe. However, we strongly recommend you to close open positions and withdraw your assets before Closure Time: Today to 26 August 2026: Exchange remains fully operational; however, we strongly encourage you to start closing open positions and withdrawing your funds as soon as practical. 26 August to 23 September 2026: Risk Limits will be applied to stop increasing any open positions and positions may be force closed to ensure an orderly market wind-down. 23 September 2026 at 04:00:00 UTC: All remaining open positions will immediately be force-closed. Exchange services will cease. 23 September 2026 onwards: All KYC’d balances remaining on the exchange will be charged a monthly account fee of USD50 equivalent or 1% per annum (whichever is greater) until fully withdrawn, such fee to increase over time (to be communicated in advance) if balances are not withdrawn.
