A 17-year-old in Sweden 🇸🇪 has avoided prison after being convicted of attempted murder for throwing a hand grenade into a couple’s home, in an attack that killed one of their dogs, despite the fact that the offense carries a 10-year term. Ayub Jafar Sharif Alnaseree threw a hand grenade through the window of a villa in Västerhaninge while two adults were inside. Two days earlier, Alnaseree had also broken into a cellphone store in Kallhäll, poured flammable liquid inside and set it on fire. The court assessed his crimes as equivalent to approximately 10.5 years in prison. However, because he was 17 at the time, he was sentenced instead to two years and four months in secure youth care.
