Did You Know In the 1940s, Dr. Wilhelm Reich claimed he had discovered how to restore the body’s natural energetic state, by capturing “high-atmospheric energies” and applying them directly to the body, resolving countless health ailments. Participants required only a handful of 15-30 minute sessions sitting inside a device he developed called an orgone accumulator, affectionately termed the Orgone-Box. The accumulator, or ‘Box’, was said to concentrate orgone, or “the energy of life”, commonly called Chi or Prana in Eastern traditions; reportedly, the device had remarkable effects on those who had multiple sessions. After publishing his findings, he was immediately attacked with dozens of smear articles in the main stream press of the day, and shortly thereafter was sent to prison on kangaroo charges by the FDA. Ignoring Reich's evidence, and declaring "the orgone energy does not exist", a US Court then ordered all of his books on the orgone subject be burned, and banned from circulation.
