In the village of Sviloš in the foothills of Fruška Gora (Serbia), a group of engineers and a professional beekeeper have implemented the HiveBits project. This initiative involves creating a network of physical beehives, the data from which is integrated in real time into the Solana blockchain, and the ownership rights to the economic part of the apiary are tokenized using NFT. Each hive is equipped with specialized HiveBits hardware - a set of sensors that continuously record the temperature, humidity, weight and activity of the bee colony. Each physical hive functions as a node of the network: beekeeper operators receive a reward based on actual performance indicators, and all data about the state of the hive is transparent and available on the blockchain. Additionally, HiveBits has released a limited-edition Genesis collection of 444 unique NFTs. Owners of these tokens receive priority access to the implementation of new network nodes, participation in the distribution of community rewards, as well as the right to vote in the future management of the project according to the DAO model.
