Pfizer Vaccine & Heart Inflammation A large US safety study looked at whether myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) and pericarditis (inflammation around the heart) occurred more often after the Pfizer COVID vaccine than in similar unvaccinated people. Researchers compared millions of vaccinated and unvaccinated people, paying particular attention to the first 7–21 days after vaccination.
