Hey Mike — grouping your questions and answering each with the actual protocol values. 1) GAS REFUNDS You asked: "What does the 'Gas refunds' value represent — are they credited or only an accounting metric?" (535 iKAS shown, wallet only ~9.45) They're real transfers — after each successful attestation the contract sends native iKAS back to your attester address. But they reimburse the L2 gas you spent on that attestation, so they don't pile up as extra balance — they keep your attest-gas cost near zero. The 535 is the cumulative amount reimbursed across your 3,000+ attestations (roughly what you spent on that gas), not a separate claimable pot — which is why it isn't in your wallet, and why you can't "claim or stake" it. It covers L2 attest gas only, NOT the L1 KAS your kaswallet pays to post to Kaspa — those stay a separate cost. (In delegated mode, refunds land on the registered attester address, which may differ from the operator wallet you're watching.) 2) DOES STAKING MORE EARN MORE? You asked: "Are rewards based only on successful attestations and uptime, or does staking more than 400,000 IGRA increase rewards?" (others' rewards look much higher) Two separate things: - How OFTEN you're selected is NOT stake-weighted — every active attester ~1/32 per block (~2,700/day), whether you stake 400k or 4M. - How MUCH each attestation is worth IS proportional to your stake. IGRA rewards target ~15% APY and your iKAS share is proportional to stake. Timeliness counts too: blocks 1–30 pay a 120% bonus, decaying to 5% by block 512. - Rewards also accumulate as your Attester Score (IAS) builds — a day-1 node has a tiny share vs one running for weeks. So attesters earning much more are staking more and/or running longer with good uptime — not a hidden setting. (That's the "more cake, more rewards" / "ramps up over time" the others meant.) 3) REBOOTS / DOWNTIME You asked: "If an attester reboots and is offline 2–5 minutes, is there any penalty, or do you only lose rewards? At what point do stake penalties begin?" Being offline itself isn't penalized. A penalty only hits a block you were selected for AND missed, once it's ~4–8.5 min old, and only if a challenger actively submits a proof. Even then it's tiny — 1/11,520 of your stake (~$0.21), capped once per 45 minutes. And the attestor catches up after a reboot, re-attesting still-valid blocks before they expire (~8.5-min window), so a 2–5 min reboot usually costs zero penalties — worst case you lose the rewards for a window you couldn't reach in time. Slashing (the serious one, 1/16 of stake) only triggers for provable fraud — invalid block hash or double-signing — never downtime. For longer outages, just pause cleanly. 4) WORTH IT AT MINIMUM STAKE? You said: "With 400k IGRA staked, the KAS fees, downtime penalties, and maintenance seem greater than the rewards… not worthwhile for a minimum-stake operator." Fair read, and worth being straight about: at 400k, IGRA targets ~15% APY (varies with your uptime/timeliness) plus a stake-proportional iKAS share, against L1 KAS gas + server. On day one your IAS is still ramping, so early rewards look thin and margins are genuinely tight at current valuations. It improves as the score matures and scales with stake — but you're right it's more compelling at higher stake or over a longer horizon. Pausing while you decide is completely reasonable. 5) WALLETS — SHOULD ALL 5 BE FUNDED? You asked: "Is the RPC workload expected to be distributed across all five wallets, or is it normal for Wallet 0 to handle everything? If distribution is expected, what controls it?"
