Statement to the Public The claims circulating on social media, which place the legal and physical responsibility for the killing of three civilians on our forces, are completely baseless and false. As the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), we have no connection whatsoever to this incident. For some time, there have been targeted and systematic attacks against the YPJ line by a patriarchal mentality. Targeting civilians is a crime under international law and our fundamental principles, and cannot be accepted. In order to identify those responsible, uncover the truth, and ensure justice, our official investigation is continuing comprehensively.
