The bar chart gives the information about the proportion of individuals who shopped online by the age groups in Australia between 2007 and 2009. Overall, the online shopping witnessed constantly upward trend among all age categories throughout the period. Moreover, the 26-35 age group were the highest across all categories, while over 65 ages had the lowest figure.
Starting at 38% in 2007, the percentage of online shopping increased slightly to 43% people aged between 26 and 35. Similarly, the figures among the individuals in the 46-55 age bracket and the average also rose by 5 percentage points, from 23% to 28%, and 24% to 29%, respectively. In addition, the 36-45 age group witnessed minor rise from 30% to 34%.
Meanwhile, the 56–65 age group experienced 5% growth, from 15% to 20%, whereas the 15–25 age groups recorded rises of 2% points, reaching 22% and 12%, respectively. Although 65+ age group increased small rise from 10% to 12%, it was be the lowest figure.
