Starting at 38% at the beginning of the year, the 26- to 35-age group witnessed a minor rise in average online shopping, reaching 43% in 2009. This figure became the largest by the end. Likewise, a steady increase was the case in the 36-45 age group from 30% to 34% between 2007 and 2009. The percentage of the 46- and 55-year-old age group observed a slight increase from 23% to 28% over the period. In addition, overall the average of all ages experienced a rise from 24% in 2007 to 29% in 2009.
By contrast, the 15-25, 56-65, and over-65 age groups saw the smallest figure among all groups. Initially, 15 and 25 were 20% at the beginning of the year, a figure that subsequently climbed to 22% in 2009. Although those between 56 and 65 observed a slight growth over the period, this figure rose from 15% to 20% between 2007 and 2009. Over 65 became the lowest figure during the period. A figure saw a minor rise; it was just 10% in 2007, and a figure reached 12% by 2009.
