The maps illustrate the main changes that have taken place in Darwin between 2009 and 2014. Overall, Darwin has become more residential over the period, while the new university was built and several residential blocks were added for citizens. In addition, a large harbor was built in the sea. In 2009, the waterfront area had a fairly simple layout. On the top of the layout, there were a school and a large convention center. An industrial area and a lake surrounded by a footpath are in the middle of the map, with residential buildings located below it. The swimming pool extended along the eastern side. There was a large industrial zone on the southern part. By 2014, the Darwin has undergone some major changes. One of the most noticeable developments was the built new university building on the left side. Accommodation blocks occupied the southern part, which led to the disappearance of the industrial area. The new swimming pool was constructed at the top of the map, and a large harbor had been built in the sea, on the right. By contrast, the school and conservation center remained unchanged on the northwest of the map, where the fishing area stood in the top right corner. Moreover, footpaths and residential buildings were enlarged in the center.
