The first stage begins with water passing through intake screens and being sent to a pipe. After that, the water is flash mixed with polyaluminium chloride and oxidants. Next, the water is collected in the flocculation tank before being transferred to the settling basin, where heavier particles settle at the bottom. The clarified water is then mixed with chlorine. Following this, the chlorinated water passes through a membrane filter to remove the remaining impurities. It is then disinfected by adding chlorine, lime, and fluoride to ensure that it is safe for drinking. Finally, the treated water is delivered to household faucets through the distribution system.
