The bar charts compare four categories – Daily usage, Often usage, Weekly usage, and Never usage – in terms of social media usage between 2011 and 2014. Overall, all sections showed different levels, but Never usage remained the same. Daily and Often usage experienced significant growth by the end, whereas Weekly usage followed the opposite trend.
Usage often rose significantly over the period. Initially, this figure was 31% at the beginning of the year, and it climbed to 42% in 2014, making it the largest category by the end of the period. Likewise, a steady increase was the case in Daily usage of social media from 12% to 16% between 2011 and 2014.
The opposite pattern can be witnessed for Weekly usage. Starting at 52% in 2011, making it the highest figure initially. And then, there was a dramatic decrease, falling to 37% by 2014. Meanwhile, the proportion of people who never used social media remained stable throughout the period.
