This format is designed for video editing and post production, not for general use.   The new ISP also supports 20 bit color depth from cameras (up from 18) as well as some improvements to processing like "improved colors, shadows and highlights". On top of that the ISP now also gets an upgrade for audio recording such as better wind noise rejection, audio zoom and HDR audio.   The modem is the new X85 which was previously announced. We have few details about it other than it getting better efficiency and potentially higher speeds.   The connectivity part of the chip remains unchanged from the previous generation. It seems like the first Oryon generation was exclusive to laptops, then the second generation was exclusive to phones. Now we are getting the same architecture on both phones and laptops and as a result we are essentially getting two generations of improvements for laptops. I hope these new chips live up to the numbers Qualcomm posted, because if they do then they will be really good. Might even be enough to outclass AMD and Intel for laptops.
