 Google's AI Summary accuses Ashley MacIsaac of being a Sex Offender Summary Google's AI summary said that he was a sex offender after combining his information with someone else with the same/similar name from another province. The First Nations reserve that was going to have the concert cancelled based on this information, but has since apologized after learning it was false.   Quotes Quote MacIsaac said the summary falsely asserted he had been convicted of a series of offences including sexual assault, internet luring, assaulting a woman and attempting to assault a minor. As well, he said the Google entry accused him of being listed on the national sex offender registry, which is also untrue. "I could have been at a border and put in jail," he said. "So something has to be figured out as far as what the AI companies are responsible for ... and what they can prevent."   My thoughts In this case, it cost him a show. Different person, different town, different time when the "news" broke, this could be a really scary situation.  This isn't even some random person who happens to perform, he's well known in Canada and especially in the Maritimes.    When an AI makes a mistake, who is liable? What safeguards are in place, or should be in place, to prevent AI summaries from including erroneous information? Theres no simple answer, we can all say just dump the AI Summary but most of us use it, even Luke and Linus on WANShow while complaining about it and how inaccurate it can be still often reference it several times a show..
