 How can we stop AI being used to influence important decisions by politicians, police and businesses? Summary  In the UK, Microsoft Co-pilot has been used to create a false report which resulted in the decision to ban Israeli football fans from attending a match last year.  Quotes Quote The report referenced a match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and West Ham that never happened - pressed by MPs last week, Chief Constable Craig Guildford insisted that the force "do not use AI".  However, in a letter to the Home Affairs Select Committee released today, he admits the mistake was the "result of a use of Microsoft Co Pilot"   My thoughts The use of AI seems to be increasingly used more, despite many who use it not understanding the limitations and flaws it has. I see this only getting worse, too much trust is placed in AI and although the output may get better over time, I personally wouldn't ever trust it without a human fact check.  Without AI tools being removed from services that all governments and businesses use, it will always be tempting to use AI to improve productivity or for decision making, especially if a deadline looms.    Sources  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c394zlr8e12t
