 Sony suspend orders of SD and CF Express cards due to the world situation Summary  Sony  temporarily pull many memory cards lines due to current worldwide supply issues.   Quotes Quote   Sony has announced that as of March 27th, 2026, the company is no longer accepting orders for nearly all the products in its CFexpress and SD memory card lines. The list of affected memory products includes CFexpress Type A, Type B, and SDXC/SDHC cards, although a few models of Type B and low-end SF-UZ series SD cards remain in production, according to PetaPixel, and you may still be able to find them on shelves until the existing supply runs out.   The announcement was made through Sony Japan’s website and is also referenced on the individual listings for affected products in its online store there. Sony says the decision was made as a result of the ongoing shortage of solid-state memory and “other factors” that could include a helium shortage due to the war in Iran that has also started to affect chipmakers.     My thoughts  It is just going to get worse. Sam Altman really stirred the pot and it is affecting us all. I am actually hoping the  AI bubble bursts. I can see some of the smaller manufacturers of thinks like memory cards following Sony’s lead here. I am sure there is falling profit on just an inability sell such products at a price people will pay.
