 UGREEN NASync Kickstarter Disaster: Deceptive Marketing, Broken Servers, and the $2,600 "Interest-Free Loan" for VIPs Hi everyone,   I’ve been a long-time LTT fan and tech enthusiast, but I feel like we need to talk about the ongoing disaster that is the UGREEN NASync Kickstarter launch—and why it’s particularly disappointing to see LMG running UGREEN sponsorships right in the middle of it.   The Context: UGREEN launched their NASync series on Kickstarter this week. They spent months building hype with a "$30 VIP deposit" for a guaranteed early-bird price. However, the launch has been a complete anti-consumer trainwreck:   Broken Infrastructure: For three days straight, their servers and payment APIs were completely non-functional. Thousands of VIPs were locked out of the checkout process for hours, watching "limited" slots disappear while their screens were stuck on infinite loading loops. The $2,600 "Interest-Free Loan": Instead of fixing their system, UGREEN’s "solution" is now forcing VIP customers to pledge the full retail price (approx. $2,600 for the Pro model) as a massive interest-free loan to UGREEN for months. They claim they will refund the difference to the $1,500 VIP price "sometime in May." The September Delay: Because of UGREEN’s own technical failures, many VIPs who were promised early delivery are now being pushed to a "September 2026" shipping tier. The LTT Connection: LTT just ran a sponsored segment for UGREEN in one of their latest video. While I understand ad spots are booked in advance, it feels incredibly tone-deaf to see LMG promote a brand that is currently engaging in what looks like deceptive marketing and "bait-and-switch" tactics on their core audience. LMG usually pride themselves on holding sponsors accountable—seeing a glossy ad read for UGREEN right now feels like a major lapse in judgment.   I spent 3 sleepless nights fighting their broken system as an industry professional in the AV/sourcing business (TAVE Sør AS), and the lack of transparency from UGREEN is staggering.   I really hope Linus and Luke cover this on the WAN Show. We need to hold these companies accountable when they treat their most loyal "VIP" backers as interest-free banks while providing zero technical reliability. Has anyone else here been caught in this UGREEN mess?
