Bruke Desalagne, 33, from Eritrea was convicted of raping a man in his 60s outside St John’s Church in Harrow, north London.
The attack happened around midnight on July 23, 2025 and lasted about 20 minutes.
The victim was dragged from a bench to a more concealed area behind hoarding/fencing.
A witness saw what was happening, called police, and officers arrested Desalagne at the scene.
CCTV was shown to the jury, and he is due to be sentenced in autumn 2026.
