When I claim PIP my partner and full time carer cannot speak for me even though I have severe memory issues and it is important every thing gets covered but if you do not speak English you can have a translator, of your own choice, who are often trained in dealing with the system and they can 'translate' for you. I have been told they make sure that nothing is said that can harm your case and will add extra detail. I also assume because of the race card refusals will be lower. There are services to help me but my partner has become an expert herself, she has never lied but also knows what not to say. The assessors have lied. The first assessment report read like someone else was interviewed and not me. One example. I was able to pick my name out of the noise of a busy waiting room when called. There was no busy waiting room as I was the only person in it and I never picked my name out my partner did and we were right next to the door. This is one of at least 10 major lies along with many misleading statements made.
