I have a bit of trouble deciding how to mount my repeater.
Option 1: highest point of the property, completely surrounded by trees, to put it above the treeline would require a mast of ~10m. In a fire it would die immediately. Access would be poor. On the other hand, it would reach more repeaters and cover more ground.
Option 2: on the house, around 6-7m high. Also surrounded by trees, but much better access, plenty of solar exposition. It can still reach 2-3 other repeaters. It would be much safer in the case of a fire. Not easy to mount, but can be done with an elevated platform.
Option 3: a public lamp post on the other side of the road adjacent to my property, mounting could be done with relative ease, access would be good, relatively safe in a fire. But it's the property of EDP or something, do they generally allow this?
Some advise would be appreciated. I only want to do this once ...
