Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) SoA Weakly Seminar The new DESI cosmology results: What we have (not) learned about dark energy نتایج جدید کیهان‌شناسی DESI: آموخته‌ها و نیاموخته‌هایمان در مورد انرژی تاریک Yashar Akrami Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT) UAM-CSIC, Spain; Case Western Reserve University, USA Abstract: The new Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) DR2 results have strengthened the possibility that dark energy is dynamical, i.e., it has evolved over the history of the Universe. This has raised the excitement that the first release of the DESI results generated in both cosmology and high-energy physics communities, and if taken at face value, it is the first time that the standard ΛCDM model of cosmology has faced a serious observational challenge. In this talk, I will first provide an overview of dynamical dark energy and why we may need it, and will then delve into the DESI findings, explaining what we have learned about the nature of dark energy and what we have not.
