How to install PNETLab on GCP 1. Open cloud console in GCP once you are in the CLI, run below command depending on the PNETLab version you want to install. - PNETLab version 5 (Ubuntu 18.04): gcloud compute images create nested-ubuntu-bionic --source-image-family=ubuntu-1804-lts --source-image-project=ubuntu-os-cloud --licenses https://www.googleapis.com/compute/v1/projects/vm-options/global/licenses/enable-vmx - PNETLab version 6 (Ubuntu 20.04): gcloud compute images create nested-ubuntu-focal --source-image-family=ubuntu-2004-lts --source-image-project=ubuntu-os-cloud --licenses https://www.googleapis.com/compute/v1/projects/vm-options/global/licenses/enable-vmx 2. Create a VM instance with the specs you want. Recommendations: CPU: Intel CPUs Skylake or Cascade Disk: SSD for better performance - For the boot disk, select the nested image that you created in step 1 - Allow HTTP and HTTPS traffic - "Deploy a container image” must be UNCHECKED - After the VM is created, ssh to it and  switch to the root user: sudo -i 3. Run the installation script for the corresponding PNETLab version: check the installation instructions for each version by issuing the command /notes in PNETLab's group. Once installation is completed reboot the VM with this command: reboot Wait for few seconds while the VM reboots and ssh to it again. When the setup wizard screen appears, press ctrl + c and type the below command to switch to the root user: sudo -i You'll get setup wizard again. When it asks you to enter your new root password, enter it twice, give a hostname of choice, domain name of choice, and select DHCP (don't use static ip ), and leave NTP blank. And that's it. Enjoy PNETLab!

📀 Installation instructions - PNetLab v6 BETA release ⚠️ Read the full instructions and important notes before starting the process. After you finish reading them, follow the process step by step. Step 1 Download the Ubuntu Server 20.04 ISO and install the OS on a VM or bare metal. Step 2 Run the installation script as root (copy-paste the full thing): curl -sL https://labhub.eu.org/api/raw/?path=/UNETLAB%20I/upgrades_pnetlab/Focal/install_pnetlab_v6.sh | bash After the installation script finishes running, reboot the server. ℹ️ Important notes - Make sure to enable Virtualization on your system BIOS and make sure your hardware supports nested virtualization. Check if you meet the requirements by running: grep -cw vmx /proc/cpuinfo Check if KVM was installed correctly after the installation script finishes running: kvm-ok - When installed on GCP, skip the setup wizard by pressing CTRL + C after the first reboot and if you're tired of having to do that at every login, ask how to disable in this chat. ⚠️ Remember this version is still on beta so you might encounter bugs and unfinished features.

To check virtualization, do the following: Run this: kvm-ok Then this: grep -cw vmx /proc/cpuinfo And check the results. If CPU returns 0 or KVM is not supported, then enable virtualization on your VM.

Hey guys, I have a question. Do you know if PNET can be installed on Nutanix? Or have you tried installing it? I'm going to try it, but I wanted to know if you've had any problems. Also, I'm wondering about the licensing process: what benefits does it offer? And how much does it cost?
