I'm learning python because its highly recommended as a first language. My question is what is the main use for python? Where does it excel over other languages?

1) Fast coding. That means - fast prototyping of the projects and features. Useful for startups. 2) A lot of libraries for scientific needs or data-processing. 3) Simple enough for learn basic programing things and switch a brain to think in algorithmic paradigm (it's - the hardest part of way to become a programmer). 4) Also usable for web :)

you can do some project at your own, and tell them that you never worked in a company but you have the experience to do projects you've done or you can go internship for some time. I advice you to tell the truth
