DEVICE SECURITY - IMPORTANT ‼️ I have been seeing one report after another that computing is getting so powerful now, before the end of this year hackers will be capable of getting through even the toughest password in minutes when it used to take months. I am taking this seriously. Anyone who does internet banking or has a web hosting account, credit card account, crypto account etc, could suddenly find themselves hacked. Apple or Google account (Gmail) also vulnerable, so your phone could be taken over. Believe me, we are all far too lazy about security. Most people even use the same password for everything. Yes I know security is a bore. But apart from switching on 2-factor authentication and fingerprint detection on your phone, I recommend spending a bit of time learning about passkeys. I particularly recommend getting a £30 Yubikey device (Amazon sell them). I'm about to order one. It replaces the current logging in with passwords etc. and hackers cannot get past it. What you do is set up a passkey for each sensitive internet website or app on your Yubikey, then all you have to do to login to your bank is touch the Yubikey to the back of your phone or insert it into your laptop's USB port. Take it seriously. Troubles are coming for a lot of people and I don't want to be one of them.
