MORNING BRIEF ☕️: Trump Media reported a $238.1M Q2 loss on just $1.7M in revenue, with digital-asset losses accounting for a major part of the hit. The company recorded $116.7M in unrealized crypto losses during Q2 and $360.6M for H1, as Bitcoin and CRO prices declined.
The company has since pulled out of its planned $6.42B CRO treasury deal with Crypto.com and is shifting its focus toward Truth Social, data monetization and its planned $6B TAE Technologies merger. Its Bitcoin holdings remain substantial, reaching 14,139 BTC in July.

MORNING BRIEF ☕️: Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan says crypto is entering a revenue-driven era, where protocol activity increasingly translates into token value. Hyperliquid is directing more than $1B in annualized fees toward HYPE buybacks, Uniswap is burning UNI with protocol fees, and Aave has bought back 205K+ AAVE worth around $42M since April 2025.
Hougan expects this model to spread across DeFi and Layer 1s over the next 12-24 months, arguing that stronger links between revenue and token value could drive crypto valuations significantly higher.
