🇨🇳 Typhoon Hongxia slams southern #China, forcing more than 800,000 people to evacuate. The storm made landfall in Guangdong Province on the morning of July 26, packing winds of up to 45 m/s (101 mph). Authorities closed schools, suspended parts of the public transport network, and opened temporary shelters. The typhoon is now moving inland, bringing torrential rain and destructive winds.
