🛡 Comparison between Router, Modem and Switch 📶 .. 1️⃣ Router : 🟢 It directs the traffic of data packets between different networks. 🟢 It is typically used to connect a local area network (LAN) to another network or networks such as the Internet. 🟢 It has the ability to analyze data traffic and make decisions about how to route it. 🟢 It operates at the network level (Layer 3) of the OSI model. 🟢 It can also distribute IP addresses and manage security and protection on the network. 2️⃣ Modem : 🟢 It converts digital signals into analog signals and vice versa. 🟢 Used to connect devices to the Internet via telephone lines, cable, or satellite. 🟢 It is used to connect a computer to the Internet by providing a network connection. 🟢 It is essential in connecting devices to the Internet. 3️⃣ Switch : 🟢 It connects devices in a local area network (LAN) and exchanges data traffic between these devices. 🟢 It is used to route data traffic at the local area network (LAN) level. 🟢 It operates at Layer 2 of the OSI model. 🟢 It helps in dividing the network into small groups called VLANs. 🟢 It does not have the ability to direct data traffic between networks like a router. @pcdrills
