For the last seven years, I was in a relationship with a girl. Yesterday, she sent me her wedding invitation on WhatsApp.
Our relationship was quite open and trusting. We never checked each other’s phones or tried to control one another. Although we never officially decided to get married, we shared long conversations, travelled together, spent a lot of time with each other, and were physically involved as well.
We hardly had any serious fights or disputes.
We both have many pictures together, which makes this situation even harder to accept.
My idea of a relationship was always clear: I wanted to marry someone I had known for a long time—ideally someone who had been part of my life for many years, or even from childhood. That sense of familiarity and emotional safety mattered a lot to me.
I strongly feel that the main reason she left and married someone else is because I do not currently have a job. My sister passed away in 2023, due to heart attack. so i was in trauma. So, no prep, no study, hence no job. The man she married has a stable and decent position in an IT company.
I cannot ignore this reality, even though it hurts to acknowledge it.
Right now, I feel completely lost. I will not harm her new relationship or I am not thinking bad about her since I still love her.
But, I don’t know what to do next. What scares me the most is the thought that I may now have to marry a complete stranger—either through relatives or matrimonial platforms like Jeevansathi.
It’s not that I am against meeting new people, but the risk involved feels much higher now. Trusting again will not be easy.
A good relationship forms the foundation of a good life. For me, that foundation has collapsed suddenly and very brutally.
Be aware, make sure you are the top candidate of you league.
else someone else will earn your queen in front of your eyes.
