There are 2 options you can choose from for unlocking bootloader of your device. The official method is less complex but has other issues like data loss and 7 days waiting. The instant method has no such issues but you will get a 'dm-verity' error to fix that you will have to either press power button every time it comes or clean flash fastboot rom again which will eventually lead to loss of data. Bug Report: Recents button dead on HyperOS (Redmi K40 Gaming / ares)
Hey guys, just wanted to drop this here because the recents button is totally broken on the latest HyperOS builds for the K40 Gaming (OS1.0.2.0.TKJINXM / TKJCNXM). Even trying to force it via adb shell input keyevent 187 does nothing.
I did some digging via ADB and found the root cause. The launcher (com.mi.android.globallauncher) needs TouchInteractionService to work, but SystemUI isn't binding it because config_recentsComponentName is missing from the framework resources. I grepped the whole system/vendor/product tree and it's nowhere to be found.
Basically, the fix is just adding the resource overlay back so SystemUI knows where to look:
target: com.mi.android.globallauncher/com.miui.home.recents.TouchInteractionService
If any dev is working on a fix, it just needs that string defined in the SystemUI config_recentsComponentName.
For now, the only way to get recents back is rolling back to MIUI 14 India (V14.0.5.0.TKJINXM) since that build actually has it configured correctly.

@AYIK_xD Hi, first of all thanks for your work on AxionOS.
I’m using it on the Xiaomi K40 Gaming (ares), and I noticed that the display brightness under direct sunlight is significantly lower compared to MIUI.
It seems that High Brightness Mode (HBM) or Sunlight Mode is not fully implemented or exposed. This makes outdoor visibility much worse, even at maximum brightness.
Would it be possible to:
- Enable proper HBM support (if hardware/vendor allows it)?
- Expose HBM or sunlight boost through settings or auto-brightness?
- Improve display calibration for outdoor usage?
I understand this may depend on vendor blobs or kernel limitations, especially on MediaTek devices, but any improvement would be greatly appreciated.
