Lior, I would like to make a suggestion that I believe would please everyone and greatly improve the app’s visual presentation:
Add covers for movies and TV series.
There are two possible ways to do this. In my opinion, the first one would be the most visually appealing.
First option:
In most groups, movies and TV series are usually shared all at once. Normally, the person first sends an image with the cover and synopsis, and then sends the video file right after.
The idea would work like this: the last image sent by the same person within 1 second before the videos are sent — or another time interval you consider more technically appropriate — would be used as the cover for the video files sent afterward.
This would be useful because, in some cases, the person sends several episodes of a TV series at once. So, all video files sent right after that image could use the same image as their cover.
In short: each video file would use as its cover the last image sent by the same author within 1 second before the video is sent, or within a longer interval if you think that would work better in practice.
Second option:
Another possibility would be to allow the image sent by the same person who sent the video files to be displayed together with those files. This way, users would understand that the image sent previously corresponds to the cover of that video or those episodes.
Additionally, when opening the image in full screen, the app could display the image/cover on the left side and, on the right side, the text associated with the image, if it has more than 30 characters. Since longer texts usually correspond to the movie or TV series synopsis, this would help organize the information better.
If there is no text directly associated with the image, the app could use the text sent right after the image and before the video file, since that text is likely to be the movie or TV series synopsis.
This would make it possible to view the cover and synopsis side by side, making the presentation more organized and visually appealing.
