Haiku 1.0 will be ABI or recompile-compatible with BeOS 5.
Haiku 2.0 will be forward looking features such as multi user, disk or file encryption, other security enhancements. Note that these are not planned features. I'm just listing out things that people keep requesting which will not be in haiku 1.0 - this is the glass elevator concept from approximately 20 years ago.
