ReplySo Celery + RedisI used Celery and Redis in one of my Django projects, but at first I didn't really understand why I needed both.
Here's the simple way I understand it now:
🔹 Celery = the worker that performs background tasks.
🔹 Redis = the middleman that holds the tasks and passes them to Celery.
For example, imagine an online store.
A customer places an order. Django saves the order and responds immediately.
But things like updating inventory and sending notifications can happen in the background.
So:
Django → Redis → Celery → background task
While Celery handles that work, Django can keep serving other users.
That's basically why Celery + Redis are useful. Simple, but it took me a while to understand.😅
The goal isn't necessarily to make the task faster. It's to keep the user from waiting while the task is being done.
