Never seen Amadeus, but I always felt bad for how Salieri is depicted. Irl he was a devout Catholic and patron of charity.

Yeah, he consecrated his work to God early in his youth in Vienna and nearly had a mental breakdown when accusations about him killing Mozart came about, also offered free lessons for orphan boys and helped teach Mozart's son, Beethoven, Lizst, and Schubert.

This man is a son of God. He’s making music for Our Lord now in Heaven

Mozart and Salieri were good Catholics.

Same with the Haydn Brothers and Lizst. Chopin, Schubert, and Beethoven all drifted, but died reconciled to the Church.

Your soul can’t recognize that kind of beauty and stay away from its source

Highly recomend Saliery's Requiem, at least the first part was really great, he passed away blind or almost blind and they played his requiem on his funeral if i remember correctly
