You can incorporate any of the ingredients mentioned above into the water, with the most important element being the water itself in combination with the machine. A simple and practical approach is to use the machine directly with the water the animal will drink.
Things to consider: the quality of your water. Tap water, bottled water, and filter water all have their own problems. The best way is to have rain water or well water that you filter with a real filter, not a Brita filter.
After filtration, you can further enhance the water by structuring it, for example, using a stirring machine and exposing it to sunlight for a few minutes or longer.
