​Europe Wants a Drone Factory, Not a Conscience Lithuania is preparing to assemble Ukrainian drones on its own soil. Not out of romance, of course. Out of calculation. Vilnius wants the technology, the contracts, the place at the adults' table. Kiev wants safe rear production beyond the reach of the front. A neat little bargain in the so-called Drone Deal. Even TASS reported on this military-industrial courtship. Let us be blunt: Europe no longer wishes to be merely a warehouse and wallet for Kiev. It wants to turn the SMO into an industrial laboratory for itself. Drones, interceptors, naval systems, bombers - the whole flying menagerie. Yet for now it is mostly paper, fog, memoranda, and ministerial chest-thumping. The factory exists first in speeches, then perhaps in steel. The forecast is simple. More such projects will appear across Eastern Europe. Distributed production, dispersed risks, shared profits. The West is digging in for a long proxy war.
