Dear Elvis, I have been wanting to write down my feelings and thoughts for you but sometimes it’s very hard to put those deep deep emotions into words at least in my case it is.
I wanna start by saying that I remember buying my first album of yours at the 7-Eleven in 1972. The name of the album is “BURNING LOVE”
I know I played that album over and over and over I cannot even recount the number of times I have played burning love it’s one of my all time favorites!
In 1975 my Grandaddy had a massive stroke, which left him in a wheelchair for the next 13 years. I was sent to live with my mother temporarily, (he & my Grandmother raised me). I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU HOW MUCH THE SONG
“ YOU WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND” helped me so very much!
During one of the most difficult times in my life, your music got me through and everything around me was falling apart you were there. I’m not sure who or what would have gotten me thru those days.
Then:
I believe it was the same year that you came to Virginia for a concert. I had a girlfriend that asked me to go however, my grandmother said NO (She was a little strict to say the least, but I’m grateful now that I’m older for her firm hand.) I WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT BECAUSE I WANTED TO HEAR YOU SING IN PERSON, BUT I THOUGHT THERE’S ALWAYS THE NEXT TIME.
Next…..
To make this long story short…I was getting married on August 27 of 1977 and oh my goodness … you go and die on me….right before my wedding day. I was devastated and then I realized I would never get to see you or listen to you in concert 😭 I cried for a week up to my wedding day.
However:
Years later Deep down inside, I believe God was letting me know that you didn’t die…. You get older and you realize things and I couldn’t imagine what your life was like with all the people all the noise everything there was so much of everything you had nothing to yourself in my mind. I’m thinking my gosh I think I would like to fake my death too just to get away from everything so deep down inside I believe you were there somewhere living your life it’s a big world. And then I met a gentleman that shared. TRUTH TRUTH AND MORE TRUTH!!!!!
Ecstatic I can’t tell you how ecstatic that I was when I heard that this was true because one thing I always question the name on the grave site that didn’t make sense to me. I thought it was ARON not Aaron. Anyways, I don’t do a lot of talking, but I wanted to share my story with you. I pray that you’ve had a wonderful life and I’m so very grateful for everything that you have done to save and protect us from evil. I have no way of ever thanking you back for all that you’ve given me for pretty much my entire life, but for that, I’m forever grateful and I know God knows my heart. MUCH LOVE ELVIS!!! 🥰🙏🇺🇸❤️🎤🎶🎵
