I saw this when I was in the Gulf War Desert Shield Storm. 4 perimeter gas alarms went off right before. I had my battle buddy sound the alarm. We honked the horns and yelled gas gas gas. They then tried to tell us to remove our gas masks ect as it was a false alarm. We both refused. We have now found out it was real. Many in our unit died earlier than they should have. I have a friend who I met later in nursing school who was physically disabled. He and I were not friends there, but met in our nursing program. He ended up having muscle fatigue where if he worked out he would be bed bound unable to move do to muscle weakness. A thin dude who became very overweight. I was in my Master of PH program when we were studying CBERN and I recognized his symptoms immediately. The VA had been denying his claims it was a mess, but he finally made it to DC for some hearing and I just as I was reading what I saw he was there. I sent pics of what I found and he shared it at the hearing. He immediately was given full disability to include college for his children. He was exposed to Sarin Gas. It must of been when they were setting stuff on fire that they found or who knows taking folks out or us for that matter. I am glad I did not remove my chemical suit and mask until many hours later. Right after that we were waiting to deploy back home and they wanted our chemical suit and mask. I refused. I told the leaders I was not giving up any of my gear until I was on a plane out of this country. They could of court marshaled me for disobeying an order, but I and my battle buddy were standing strong and refused to return our gear. This is when I knew something wasn't right with it all.
