Hi everyone, just been to my 8 week appointment with my little boy, and what I thought was heat rash is actually eczema. Are there any natural alternatives to help it (doctor said don’t use coconut oil/oats etc as can cause future allergies). She said it’s unlikely to be dairy related as there are no other symptoms. He’s EBF Thanks

For what it’s worth. The best advice I was ever given by my osteopath was to stop dairy (cow). Goat’s milk, cheese and butter was a great substitute for the whole family (eventually adults stopped dairy completely). So, I would stop any dairy for a few days and would then try goat’s.
There are also a few mild herbs we used to help with digestion.

Thank you! I think it’s heat rash as it’s disappeared now he’s cooled down. I was surprised the doctor said eczema. I’ll keep a close eye though and thanks for your great advice!

Eczema is usually related to separation (as per German New Medicine by dr Hamer if you are familiar with)
I’ll share a story of my dear friend and how she resolved the conflict with her daughter.
I hope it helps

My 2 year old had eczema on her wrists for the past two weeks. It got so bad that it looked like skin burn and was forming a yellow crust (what conventional medicine would call an infection). I knew it was the staph bacteria doing its job, but I was still on alert and worried it may not settle because she kept scratching it and causing bleeding.
It looked like it was alternating between conflict phase and healing, definitely with relapses. I started off with the soothing remedies with calendula, tried natural skin barriers as well.
The conflict I knew was that of separation, and noting which wrist had it worse i knew it was mommy related (aka me). I had to really put my ego aside, my exhaustion and sleep deprivation to go into what truly was the issue: the issue was my lately very aggressive reactions at night when she wouldn’t settle or sleep even during hours of nursing and walking while nursing.
I would ask her not to touch me, i would shove her hands away and feel my skin crawl.
In fact, she was “itching” to touch me and to have a loving embrace from me. That is what she needed and couldn’t have.
Once I saw the full picture, i prayed i can center myself again, act from a place of love and affection, and not fall into the whole “this exhaustion and lack of sleep will never end”. My heart ached as i put myself in her position, and maybe my younger self at her age, not having my needs met.
_Were I to jump from fix to fix and focus on eradication and diagnosis, i would have missed an opportunity to better myself as a mother and woman. To fix instead my relationship with her and how i show up for me and her.
As i made these realizations and made sure to casually talk about this to my partner (in front of her), today she is actually almost fully healed and her wrists are getting back to their beautiful tenderness.

I don't know much about GNM but that toddler sleep situation doesn't sound sustainable. Hours of nursing whilst walking? So not even the opportunity to sleep. Committing to that even more and finding no alternate ways to settle the child could cause severe mental and physical health problems for this woman. Severe sleep deprivation can very quickly become a safety issue.

I guess she’s very much aware of this. It’s just the way she chooses to raise her child. It’s not related to GNM directly. No judgement here 🙏🏻✨

Yeah I just worry when I see this stuff. Took about a week for me to start having minor visual hallucinations at the hospital with my first, fortunately I discharged myself and we were able to go home and cosleep, and that worked, but yeah it can escalate quickly. I hope someone can give her a break or a nap

Did you know you had a choice when you were pregnant?
Most women don't find that out until it's too late. Nobody tells them what their options are. Nobody's there to help them understand what's happening to their own body.
If you've watched someone you love go through birth trauma and thought "that didn't need to happen," this is your way in.
I'm running a 5-day in-person doula training in Great Missenden this November, 23rd to 27th. You'll learn how to support women through pregnancy and birth so they understand their choices and feel safe making them. No previous experience required. 8 places only.
Early bird price £1,399 (full price £1,599). Payment plans and Clearpay available.

Hi Jo, not familiar. I’m pretty sure it’s heat rash, the doctor threw me off quite a bit! Thanks for sharing but I would take a different approach if it was eczema.

Holding you through this ❤️ wild isn’t it they will say no coconut oil or oats as it causes allergies yet they’ll give drugs that are known to cause allergies 💉
My 10 day old seems to have quite sensitive, delicate skin compared to my first. He regularly gets heat rash, I just put breastmilk on it. Give him warm baths every few days and put coconut oil and sweet almond oil on him and massage him to stimulate healing the skin and to receive loving touch for healing. If it continues or worsens I may lessen my dairy intake and get organic cotton sheets and towels. He’s not worn any clothes yet but I’m concerned about his reaction to the fabrics. They are all cotton but only a few are organic

Thanks for this and totally agree about the 💉
Yes my first’s skin seems more robust than my son’s, although it has been hot since he’s been born while my daughter was a December baby.

He seems young to have eczema already. Go with your intuition ❤️ yeah I’m the same with the heat, my first was also December. We have a red light panel that I might put on his skin too

LivvoHi...after some information...is milk aspiration common for a 9month old...just had a scare...not very familiar with this...thankyou
It can happen at any age I believe. I’d keep an eye on there breathing and if it sounds rattly, I would see a doctor too!

I love this conversation, Nickita! When I learned about absolute vs relative risk, it really blew my mind. Finally I understood how statistics are manipulated big time to influence peoples' decisions. I haven't heard it used about stillbirth in this way, so thank you for sharing that. Ugh and yes how providers don't consider how that would make the woman feel about herself (or what it puts in her mind to manifest) is just beyond me!
The bigger picture here is so valuable - encouraging women to tap in to their own unconscious responses and reactions and seeing how those are influencing their decisions, learning how to guide women to ask important questions vs giving them your answer - all SO important! Thanks for doing the work you do 🙏💖
