I should write a song 😂
See below. I spent a lot of time in New Mexico. Thought adobe construction made so much sense for its thermal properties.
Rammed earth? Who knew.
The original earth ship community is near Taos and worth seeing if in the area.

Taos is my favorite town in New Mexico. I was blessed to have to visit it twice a year for my job. There was a mexican restaurant in the town square that had the best, most unbelievable chile verde ever. It was super spicy (hot). But I would push through the sweat and devour the whole bowl.
Chama and Dulce area are quite nice too.
I miss New Mexico.

I prefer them still: always working no matter what, no catridges flying around, easy to maintain.

1.3K · Kyle HibbittWhy would you buy an electric vehicle?
since if you live off-grid and you have solar, then:
A - you can drive it "for free", if it's charged during sunny day, when you have excess electricity;
B - if you have a day, which is not sunny (depends on your car brand and model), you can use it to power your house;
C - it requires minimal maintenance, when compared to 'default' mechanical car.
It's "fake and gay", but it has its advantages and use cases.

This only applies if you retro fit batteries and motors to a conventional car, eliminating the insane software side of it and only having the essentials, otherwise its just a big data harvesting and potential pinch point for control and manipulation. Bad social credit....no charging for you!!! 😂
Mechanical diesel and carbies for me 👌
Kyle HibbittWhy? From electric vehicle sales?
No because they wanna force electric cars on you! I see the plan now

probably, EU versions of same electric cars are different, since I have seen multiple people doing that (using car to store excess solar energy for cloudy day). When it comes to social credit score, it's not a thing. If in some potential alternative reality that would've been a thing, I'm pretty sure 100% of such cars would been hacked/altered in my area, since this is what happened historically to any devices, which were locked by manufacturers. Even now people alter their iPads on wheels, because those might have stupid and annoying functionality (like speed limiter, which prevents you from going faster than a certain speed). Some are easier to hack, others are a bit trickier, but people do hack and alter those.

4 days of clouds in a row... we slowly ratchet down on the batteries. They're gunna take a hit today because we are going to can some tomatoes. Holy smokes, imagine me having to buy power in the /summer/....

One of the neighbors with 45kw of panels is struggling too.... out of 45kw he's making 3.3kw.
However the guy who is overpanelled by 2x (13kw of MPPT with 26kw of panels) is making 4kw. This guy hit 100% every day except yesterday.
When in doubt don't be bashful about adding more panels.

Just something of note... the guy with 13kw of MPPT chargers and 26kw of panels is often done charging for hte day by noon and then his system makes only the power he's using moment to moment for the remainder of daylight hours.
Note that with 13kw of battery chargers, he's still able to make 77kwh in a day... more than the 50kwh that the average house uses.
Over panelling allows you to make predictable power even when it's cloudy.
