The general summary goes like this: Starting around 2015, A combination of governments from the “West”, para-state groups like NGOs & watchdog groups, social media and Internet providers began systematically siloing the Internet. Deboosting, deplatforming, banning, censorship, throttling and other actions slowly chipped away at the freedom of cyberspace. 2022 was when sites were at their most censorious.
